Kohli’s early dismissal pegged India back in their chase of 339. India eventually lost the big final by 180 runs.Amir is expected to play a big role for Pakistan when they take on India in Manchester in their 7th World Cup meeting. Amir hit peak form just ahead of the India match when he broke the back of Australia’s middle order and picked up 5-wicket haul vs the defending champions on July 12.In what is expected to be overcast conditions in Manchester on Sunday, Pakistan would be hoping Amir will recreate the magic of the Champions Trophy final.”I am not going to say anything for different for TRPs or for exciting news. You have to respect every bowler’s strength. I just focus on the white ball or the red ball, regardless of the bowler. You have to respect a good bowler’s skillset. I said this even before the South Africa match about Kagiso Rabada,” Virat Kohli said when he was asked to comment on Mohammad Amir.advertisementKohli added: “Impact bowlers are there in world cricket. We have to be wary of their strength but at the same time focus on my strength to score runs.”It’s not like if he [Amir] takes a wicket or I score runs, the match result is going to be decided. There are going to be 10 other players. All of them have to play well. I don’t think I am in a competition with anyone, that’s all talks from the outside. This kind of competition doesn’t even cross my mind. If you play badly against a bowler, you will get out. It’s that simple for me.”Pakistan have a potent pace attack that has Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Hasan Ali, and the young left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi. Speaking to India Today ahead of the World Cup 2019 match between India and Pakistan, batting great Sachin Tendulkar had said India need to wary of Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz threat on Sunday.”Rohit [Sjharma] and Virat are the 2 more experienced players in the lineup and Pakistan would be focussing on getting them early without any doubt as that opens the game for them. Amir and Wahab Riaz will definitely target their wickets early on. But Rohit and Virat should also be looking to play long innings. the plan should be that the rest of the guys play around them,” Sachin Tendulkar said. Also See:For sports news, updates, live scores and cricket fixtures, log on to Like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter for Sports news, scores and updates.Get real-time alerts and all the news on your phone with the all-new India Today app. Download from Post your comment Do You Like This Story?
