After 14 years coaching of the German national team, the “Man-History” as the DHB-President Strombach called him, Heiner Brandt, decided to leave the German coaching post. The man who won European and World Gold Medal (2004-2007), and also Olympic silver (2004), had incredible underachievements with the national team after the World Cup 2007, which the “Panzers” won at home. They had 11th places at the Euro 2010 and World Cup 2011, and the incredibly bad results for the Euro 2012 in Serbia in which Germany must beat Austria away in order to qualify.
