More Than 100 Join Wolf Administration for Third Health Care in Your Community Event at Harrisburg Area Community College SHARE Email Facebook Twitter September 17, 2018 Healthcare, Press Release, Public Health Harrisburg, PA – Today, Wolf Administration cabinet officials were joined by more than 100 attendees for the third Health Care in Your Community event held at Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) in Dauphin County.“Health Care in Your Community events give Pennsylvanians a chance to learn more about what our administration is doing to help increase access to care, lower health care costs, prevent disease, and educate consumers on how to get and stay healthy. After the success of my administration’s Cabinet in Your Community events and the many health care-related questions raised at these, we created a health care-focused initiative to hear from local residents and talk about important health related issues,” Gov. Wolf said. The Health Care in Your Community initiative is modeled after the Cabinet in Your Community events, which provide members of the community a way to interact with cabinet secretaries and talk about issues important to the region. The first Health Care in Your Community event was held in June at Lehigh Carbon Community College in Schnecksville and offers a similar interaction but with a focus on health care.Department of Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine, Department of Human Services Secretary Teresa Miller, Department of Aging Secretary Teresa Osborne, and Insurance Commissioner Jessica Altman provided region-specific updates on major initiatives and accomplishments to make health care more accessible and focused on community and consumer need, followed by an impromptu question-and-answer session with the audience.“I am excited that so many members of the community came out to hear from and ask questions of our cabinet officials today,” said Governor Tom Wolf. “It’s important that we continue to have this type of valuable dialogue about health care all across the commonwealth and that everyone has an opportunity to feel connected to Harrisburg no matter where they live.”The administration is planning more Health Care in Your Community events throughout the fall and winter months.
