first_imgStay on target Peter Capaldi’s on-screen adventures may end this year, but the Twelfth Doctor will endure on the comic book page.Issue 14 of the Doctor’s second year launched on Wednesday, marking the start of a two-party story featuring the mystery of the Time Surgeon.In Titan Comics’ “Invasion of the Mindmorphs” Part 1, writer Robbie Morrison and artist Rachael Stott plunge readers into the alternative-timeline world of the Time Surgeon—a punk rocker chrononaut from the planet Galahad with Gallifreyan-like tattoos, a sonic scalpel, and silver-fox mohawk—and his assistant, Nurse Kara.But step back from The Minister and his eradicating deathroids, and you’ll meet fictional creators Sonny Robinson and Val Kent, who are about to get a visit from the Doctor they’re parodying.“From the means streets of 1920s San Francisco to a reality-shaping serpent of myth, we close out Year Two with a two-part film noir gumshoe horror spectacular that’s packed full of surprises,” the comiXology description said.Part 1 comes with three new covers, and is available in print and digital form for $8 or $3.99, respectively.Titan ComicsMorrison kicked off the Golden Years of the Doctor and Clara in January 2016; now, the year-long adventure ends with next month’s part-two installment.
