The flat back yard and pool provided a view from the main bedroom. When I wake up I’m just so happy,” Mr Besic said. 62 Muir Street, Cannon Hill was a renovation of the highest calibre.The two-level home of four-bedroom, two-bathroom accommodation on 471sq m was full of high-end fittings including feature lights, Vacu-Maid system, high ceilings, plantation shutters and ducted airconditioning.Place Bulimba agent, Chris Rice, said the home deserved it’s title as champion.“The only other residential sales that have exceeded it have been residential development sites,” Mr Rice said.Mr Rice said he felt a sense of duty to the seller, home and suburb to achieve a great result.“The whole family are pretty excited, pretty proud. I was thinking: ‘I’m going to stay here forever’. Whatever work we carried out, we used proper materials and the best carpenters and tradesmen,” Mr Besic said.“The building inspectors gave the building a 12 out of 10 — there was not one defect.“When we decided to do it as an owner/builder, we had complete control of the property. We didn’t want to renovate again in 10 years time,” he added.Mr Besic’s favourite space was the kitchen/lounge/TV room, but he also loved the outdoor entertainment area with its benchtop, bar fridge and built-in barbecue.
